NYFW Tibi Fashion Show Fall/Winter 2015

People usually find it interesting that my endgame has always revolved around a mere invitation to watch a ten minute long model stampede, because what about all the free swag? And what about it? I love it, but for me, it's always been about the fashion. It's about getting the first look at a designer's collection as you sit side by side the industry's dictators and editors alike. Watching a show is experiencing fashion at its core with the people who live for every last feathered peacoat and high waisted pair of fringe pants. There is nothing like it.

Which brings me to the Tibi Fall/Winter 2015 fashion show...

NYFW Desigual Fashion Show Fall/Winter 2015

If there's one thing about Desigual, it's that you could spot one of their designs from a mile away. Desigual clothing are colorful, bright, and basically scream, "BE HAPPY!" Even the models Desigual casts embody that "be happy" philosophy. Every season a different Victoria's Secret angel opens the show and that angel walks as if she were on the VS runway, twirling, blowing kisses, and flipping her hair. All the models follow her lead, and with party music blasting, the energy in the room is palpable.

Behati Prinsloo opened this season, kicking the show off wearing a structured, yet whimsical green, blue, orange, and yellow printed dress...

NYFW Tadashi Shoji Fashion Show Fall/Winter 2015

Welcome back, New York Fashion Week! I'm tired already. I spent the last ten days procrastinating planning my outfits for the next week, a Fashion Week ritual that any exhausted fashion show attending blogger knows is high priority. Once the shows begin, every day is a mad dash from one fashion show to the next, then often a trip home for a quick outfit change before that night's after-party. If you don't have your outfits meticulously prepared and laid out for the week, good luck remembering both of your shoes.

This season my Fashion Week kicked off with the Tadashi Shoji Fall/Winter 2015 fashion show...

NYFW Georgine Fashion Show Fall/Winter 2015

This season marked my second Georgine fashion show and it was an amazing thing being able to see the way Georgine transitioned into the new season, incorporating similar elements from the previous one. Her spring collection was full of metallics and you can say exactly the same about her fall collection. And I am all about the gold, especially that gold shearling jacket that walked the runway -- need...

NYFW Nicholas K Fashion Show Summer/Spring 2015

It's a dream and a curse getting invited to so many fashion shows. On the one hand, it's all I've ever wanted, but on the other hand, when there are so many fashion shows to go to, there are just as many my schedule does not allow for. My director let me take off work for most of the shows, but on the days I simply could not miss, I was so lucky to have my friend Liza go in my place. I'm still trying to catch up with posting all my Fashion Week coverage, but here's Liza's account of Nicholas K, the first show of the season...

NYFW Tadashi Shoji Fashion Show Summer/Spring 2015

Inspired by Venice and the reflection of the golden palace, Ca' d'Oro, on the water, this collection was destined to be beautiful. Tadashi Shoji's collection consisted solely of dresses and long gowns fit for a Venetian water goddess. In addition to classic all-white and all-black looks, he incorporated gorgeous shades of pastel, lace fabrics, and sheer inserts...

NYFW Georgine Fashion Show Summer/Spring 2015

This season marks the second time I've been lucky enough to witness a Georgine fashion show. Georgine's ready to wear spring/summer 2015 collection was 70's inspired and embraced summer at its finest.

The collection had a strong focus on metallics, reminding me of, "I dream of Jeannie," a Nick at Nite show that used to come on way past my bedtime. Georgine used solid metallic fabrics to create every type of silhouette, from pants and skirts to swimsuits and caftans...

NYFW Naeem Khan Fashion Show Summer/Spring 2015

There are literally only two words on my mind by day 6 of Fashion Week: I'm tired. Exhaustion has reached its peak and the previous unadulterated excitement I felt from attending numerous fashion shows a day can officially be classified as ephemeral.  However, no amount of sleep deprivation can affect the effect the Naeem Khan fashion show has on me. Naeem Khan brings the magic back. Every season, his collection reminds me of what my very first fashion show felt like, the rush of exhilaration and a sense of victory...

NYFW Desigual Fashion Show Summer/Spring 2015

The Desigual fashion show always gets me excited because it's basically code for, "You're about to see a Victoria's Secret angel walk." Somehow over the years I've pretty much met every one of the angels, but seeing them walk never gets old.

The first angel I ever met was Lily Aldridge who interviewed me a couple years back at Fashion's Night Out. Then there was Karlie Kloss who opened for the Anna Sui fashion show that changed my life. (Read the story here, if you haven't yet.) I was at the Cell for Gratitude party with Cara Delevingne and Jourdan Dunn, which was probably one of the best nights I've had since becoming a fashion blogger, and I accidentally walked into a Candice Swanoepel meet-and-greet at the Victoria's Secret on 5th Ave. I was yet to see Adriana Lima; however, so I was ecstatic when I heard she would be opening for Desigual this season...

NYFW Pamella Roland Fashion Show Summer/Spring 2015

The Pamella Roland fashion show is always a beautiful display of elegant gowns and feminine looks. This season's collection was inspired by Japan and channels the Gardens of Kyoto. The Japanese influence can be easily recognized through Pamella Roland's use of obi belts, origami folds, and hand-painted floral motifs...
