NYFW Nicholas K Fashion Show Summer/Spring 2015
It's a dream and a curse getting invited to so many fashion shows. On the one hand, it's all I've ever wanted, but on the other hand, when there are so many fashion shows to go to, there are just as many my schedule does not allow for. My director let me take off work for most of the shows, but on the days I simply could not miss, I was so lucky to have my friend Liza go in my place. I'm still trying to catch up with posting all my Fashion Week coverage, but here's Liza's account of Nicholas K, the first show of the season.
Well my friends, it’s that time of year again, when Lincoln Center becomes filled with fashion legends and fashion hopefuls. I had the privilege of attending the very first fashion show of the season, Nicholas K, and the atmosphere was palpable. When the lights went down and the music began, you could feel the excitement for what the first look of Spring/Summer 2015 fashion would be.
Nicholas K is known for designing clothing that “elicit the modern urban nomad,” and it was just that! All the pieces were light and airy and most of the looks monochromatic. The collection made me imagine what a woman might wear when going on a chic vacation to a desert island. So, as the lilt of the music came to an end, so to was the end of the beginning of NYFW SS’15, and what a lovely start it was.
Love from Liza
