ShopMy Gifting, Tiers, Linking to Amazon Explained

ShopMy Gifting, Tiers, Linking to Amazon Explained

I signed up for ShopMy a few months back, mostly just to lock in my username, but I was ShopStyle loyal and find it cumbersome to learn a new platform, so it wasn’t until ShopStyle shut down that I decided to get serious about ShopMy. It’s been about 3 weeks now since I switched over and I know I had a bunch of questions when I first started, like how to level up and how to connect my Amazon Creators account, so I figured I’d share my experience here for anyone looking for the same info.

But first, let’s talk about the gifting becaause I feel like that’s the main draw for a lot of sign ups. Yes, the gifting is no joke. Since I got active creating and sharing links, I’ve already received 14 gifting requests. How it works is you’ll get a notification and when you open the app. you’ll see that a brand shared a lookbook with you, essentially a photo list of products you can choose from to receive. There will either be a monetary or item number limit, you select what you want, and then it’s one click to order. Your address is input automatically since you add it when you sign up. The process is so simple and so addicting. It’s literally such a dopamine hit when a request comes in, even though I’ve been receiving gifting as a creator for over a decade at this point. That said, I would love to figure out how to get on some fashion brand lists since my gifting requests have been primarily beauty, hair, and wellness products.

If you’re sold already, you can sign up with my ShopMy referral link here.

Now for the levels… All the gifting requests I’ve received so far have been at the Ambassador level, but I am currently one point away from Trendsetter, so I am super excited to see what opportunities the new tier will bring. You can keep track of your points and see how many you have in each category, like monthly traffic and monthly order volume, which are both ways to grow your points, but from what I gather, it takes time for your sales and clicks to track. So I feel like I would have hit Trendsetter a few days ago (requires 75 points), but since analytics take time to update, it will probably happen today as more commissions and clicks from this past week start coming through.

Other ways to get points are by completing your profile, actively creating links, responding to gifting requests in a timely manner, and referring new people to the platform. Once you hit a new tier, you get a one time cash bonus ($10 for Ambassador, $50 for Trendsetter…) and your level is locked in for 15 days. If you don’t maintain or continue growing your points after that, you will drop down a level, which would seriously suck after reaching Trendsetter, since at that tier, you are able to directly chat with brands. I am most excited about that since it cuts out the work of finding the proper contact. The brand is also able to see if you made any sales for them, which makes pitching much easier. The image below shows how the chat feature looks, with any driven sales for that brand at the top. I was actually able to pitch Walmart because they had sent me a message first (it was a mass message about their sale). Unfortunately, they never responded, but I would absolutely love to partner with them again, in case someone from their team sees this.

Lastly, let’s discuss Amazon linking. This is a bit of a sore subject for me because I did not realize at first that if you don’t connect your Amazon Creator profile to your ShopMy account, you will NOT receive commission. My highest sales are on Amazon and I spent days sharing my favorite Amazon products via ShopMy before realizing none of my sales were tracking. And I know for a fact I made quite a bunch of sales. Really frustrating, so I’m sharing the video that taught me exactly how to connect the accounts: @lindseyhyams video explanation

Once your accounts are connected, you still need to create an Amazon affiliate link as you would normally do, but then you can turn it into a ShopMy link by simply creating a link using the URL. Sharing how it will look on the backend. On desktop, it will also say Custom Program where it typically says a commission amount.

P.s. This is the most amazing Amazon comforter. Got it for my son. It’s extremely comfortable and affordable. You can shop it here.

Let me know if you have any other questions. These are definitely the topics I Googled when I got started, so hopefully you’ll find it helpful. And if you haven’t signed up yet, you can do that through here.

Good luck!
