NYFW Nicholas K Fashion Show Summer/Spring 2015

It's a dream and a curse getting invited to so many fashion shows. On the one hand, it's all I've ever wanted, but on the other hand, when there are so many fashion shows to go to, there are just as many my schedule does not allow for. My director let me take off work for most of the shows, but on the days I simply could not miss, I was so lucky to have my friend Liza go in my place. I'm still trying to catch up with posting all my Fashion Week coverage, but here's Liza's account of Nicholas K, the first show of the season...

NYFW Georgine Fashion Show Summer/Spring 2015

This season marks the second time I've been lucky enough to witness a Georgine fashion show. Georgine's ready to wear spring/summer 2015 collection was 70's inspired and embraced summer at its finest.

The collection had a strong focus on metallics, reminding me of, "I dream of Jeannie," a Nick at Nite show that used to come on way past my bedtime. Georgine used solid metallic fabrics to create every type of silhouette, from pants and skirts to swimsuits and caftans...

NYFW Naeem Khan Fashion Show Summer/Spring 2015

There are literally only two words on my mind by day 6 of Fashion Week: I'm tired. Exhaustion has reached its peak and the previous unadulterated excitement I felt from attending numerous fashion shows a day can officially be classified as ephemeral.  However, no amount of sleep deprivation can affect the effect the Naeem Khan fashion show has on me. Naeem Khan brings the magic back. Every season, his collection reminds me of what my very first fashion show felt like, the rush of exhilaration and a sense of victory...

NYFW Pamella Roland Fashion Show Summer/Spring 2015

The Pamella Roland fashion show is always a beautiful display of elegant gowns and feminine looks. This season's collection was inspired by Japan and channels the Gardens of Kyoto. The Japanese influence can be easily recognized through Pamella Roland's use of obi belts, origami folds, and hand-painted floral motifs...

NYFW Bibhu Mohapatra Spring 2014 Fashion Show

The show began promptly at 9AM and I cannot help but wish every morning started with a dose of Bibhu. Known for his spectacular evening wear, I had the incredible experience witnessing Bibhu Mohapatra's gowns walk down the runway. I could not take my eyes off the geometric fractured fabrics and structured floral details...

NYFW Michael Kors Spring 2014 Fashion Show

Many of the looks in this collection had a business casual feel with collared tops and slouchy trousers, and I can see a lot of women wanting these outfits for work. Michael Kors brought an interesting touch to the runway with the reinvention of the collared shirt which he did by elongating and rounding the collar's tips. Other key trends I saw were the trench coat and fur pieces...

NYFW Nanette Lepore Spring 2014 Fashion Show

Nanette Lepore was the first fashion show I was invited to and the last show I attended this Spring 2014 New York Fashion Week, with many other incredible shows in between. It was absolutely magical, full of red, white, and ditzy floral prints. Nanette Lepore brought a girly, romantic vibe to the runway, befitting her collection's title, "Neo Romantic." From the first look, I knew this collection was bound to be one of my favorites, and it was...
