NYFW Nanette Lepore Fashion Show Fall/Winter 2014
If there is one show I look forward to the most every season, it is the Nanette Lepore fashion show. Nanette Lepore was the first designer to invite me into the exclusive great white tents to experience my first fashion show (sans crashing) and as long as I am invited, I don't ever plan to miss it.
Nanette Lepore's Fall/Winter fashion show 2014 exuded femininity and romance, an overall theme this season. Even the vibrant pink backdrop emanated girly vibes. Major trends in the collection included asymmetrical hems, leather accents, fur pieces, plunging v-necklines, longer lengths, and turtlenecks.
I especially loved Nanette Lepore's flirty dresses and the fuchsia pink print she used for multiple silhouettes. One back detail that stood out to me was a low cut v-back dress with a thin strap across the back of the model's neck.
Colors varied from dusty pinks, plum, burgundy, and faded olive, along with neutrals, such as black and grey.
I was absolutely enamored with the hairstyle the models wore, relaxed waves with a front side waterfall braid. It is definitely going to be my summer go-to hairstyle.
From my third row seat, I sat across from Kelly Rutherford, Serena Van Der Woodsen's mother in "Gossip Girl," Sarita Choudhury from "Homeland", Audrey Gelman from "Girls," and Peyton List from "Jessie." I am completely guilty of only recognizing Kelly Rutherford. After the show, I approached her to chit-chat about the show and take a picture. She was by far the sweetest celebrity I have ever met. Since we were only surrounded by front row A-listers who would probably have been offended had I asked them to play photographer for a second, Kelly suggested we take a selfie. We agreed that she take it since she is taller so has a better angle. So sweet, I tell you.
Edie Falco, Johnny Ventimiglia and Aida Turturro from the Sopranos were also there, as well as fashion bloggers from The Chriselle Factor, Viva Luxury, and Natalie Off Duty. Happy to say I was one of them.
