Navy Turtleneck + Pink Slip Dress // Finding Your Niche

Navy Turtleneck + Pink Slip Dress // Finding Your Niche

Since the beginning of my blogging days, everyone always gave me the same advice to find my niche. They told me to figure out what differentiates my blog from others and capitalize on that to stand out. I tried going the DIY route, but that’s about as unoriginal as it gets. I then tried to be more creative with my outfits, mixing unexpected prints and colors, until eventually my style took a more simplistic approach and the colors no longer fit. I continued to brainstorm about what would be a great niche, but I always came to the same conclusion.

It’s extremely important to differentiate yourself, but as long as you continuously stay true to your style, you will always be different. Take Danielle Bernstein of WeWoreWhat for example. Her niche is simply her very defined, edgy style. Her outfits are always distinctly her own. Follow the trends if you want, but just always make sure to add your own personal touch to each look.

Your followers also care more about consistency than anything else. If your blog focuses on outfit posts, your readers will become accustomed to that and probably won’t appreciate a random recipe post. It’s fine to discuss multiple topics on your blog, but you have to either warn your readers about an upcoming shift in theme or figure out a way to keep things relevant.

After 4 years and a rebrand, I’ve finally found a voice that I believe differentiates me from other bloggers. The goal of EstherSanter.com is to give readers an insider’s look into the blogger industry, while simultaneously sharing blogging tips I’ve learned along the way. Hope you like the new direction! Please send over any topic suggestions to my email at PR.esthersanter@gmail.com.
