Dan Liu Fashion Show Spring/Summer 2017
This year I was lucky enough to attend the Dan Liu 2017 S/S collection at NYFW. It was my first experience at a fashion designer runway show, so I was pretty ecstatic about the opportunity. Once I arrived I shuffled through the benches to find my seat. Fortunately, I was asked by the show organizers to sit in the front row! On every seat there was a single beautiful red rose for decoration. It couldn’t have been more appropriate that Caila Quinn from the Bachelor was attending and in the front row right across from me! Was this a coincidence? I think not! Anyhow, Dan Liu’s collection definitely deserves a first impression rose! Overall the garments were very beautiful, obviously! I saw very feminine tailored pieces that worked to accentuate the female figure. His Chinese and Japanese heritage was apparent as inspiration for some of the floral prints, and silhouettes. The pieces were very chic, classic, yet romantic. There was everything from white lace shift dresses to A-line florals. As a Math Major, naturally my favorite was “GG Prints”, the blue and green mixed full geometric prints A-Line Satin dress. It was quite a show to see, and I hope to see Dan Liu again next year!
