NYFW Nanette Lepore Fashion Presentation Fall/Winter 2016
The second I saw the invite for Nanette Lepore's presentation, I knew it was gonna be good. I mean, it's always good, but this season Nanette decided to host the event in the most luxurious hotel in NYC, the Baccarat. The hotel is lined with chandeliers and red roses. Apparently even the smallest room in the place runs for a minimum of a thousand bucks a night and is stocked with La Mer toiletries. That's the royal treatment right there. Nanette's presentation took place at the bar of the hotel, but was stocked with tea time necessities, including tea and mini desserts. It was an incredibly intimate affair, and everyone there mingled over drinks while admiring the 8 piece collection. The collection was small, but a perfectly cohesive mixture of silk and tweed pieces in black, brown, maroon, and blue. My favorite piece was definitely Nanette’s deep blue ruffled skirt suit. It’s such a polished piece that is perfect for the trendy working girl. I also loved her maroon silk dress with beautiful beading down the front of a bird and floral scene. The new collection had a very sophisticated, grown-up vibe, which is very different from Nanette's previous collections of fun, flirty, colorful dresses, but I always like a change when it comes to fashion.
