Side Slit Black Maxi Dress

I wrote a post previously called Rachel Zoe inspired: the maxi dress where I wore a black maxi and incorrectly deemed it the perfect black dress. Maybe I did love that maxi dress then, but I love the dress featured in this post 100x more.

Working next door to H&M has taken its toll on my bank account, but it is all worth it when I come across finds like this. It hugs the body perfectly, hangs at that awkward, yet super fashionable length, and it only cost me $20.

This dress is light enough for summer, warm enough for fall, and the long sleeves make it winter appropriate, as long as you throw some layers on top. For this photoshoot, I kept it simple and wore only my Michael Kors bracelet watch and a pair of simple Nordstrom Trolley black booties, but another day, I may pile on the jewels and bring out some killer heels.

You can never go wrong with a chic black dress, and the side slit adds the perfect finishing touch.
