For as much as I advocate wearing heels on a daily basis, I still have a true love for sandals -- not to be confused with flip flops. The metallic trend has stayed strong and you cannot go wrong this summer with a pair of gorgeous gold sandals.

Many people have questioned my disdain for flip flops. My aversion is not some innately held opinion, but if I learned anything living in France, it is that flip flops are for the beach, if that. I won't say I am a conformist, but I will say that 2012-2013 has been a completely flip flop free year -- and I love it that way.

This outfit was styled and modeled by Elaine Atzmon, who has been a source of fashion inspiration for years. I love this outfit for its simplicity and ease. Throw a lace top over a white bandeau and brighten it up with a kelly green skort to achieve a polished look and stay comfortable during those long summer days.
