OOTD // Black Sweatshirt, White Dress, + Ruffle Socks
I’m not sure I’ve ever gone this long without posting to the blog, but life, you know?
2020 has sure brought on a lot of changes to my blogging career, most notably switching all in-person events to Zoom, but the biggest change for me has probably been transitioning to iPhone photography. I used to spend hundreds of dollars on professional photos, but when COVID hit and work got canceled, I wasn’t about to drop money on purely organic content. So, I started begging my husband to “snap” an iPhone shot (or 500) of me every Sunday. It was really hard to drop my standards and settle for lower quality images, but I absolutely loved being in charge of my content. I no longer had to plan multiple outfits in advance and wait for my next photoshoot every time I wanted to post a photo. I didn’t feel the same disappointment if an outfit fell flat on camera because it’s not like I paid for those images. And the best part, I learned how to shoot myself with a tripod and remote, so I don’t have to rely on anyone anymore, I can take as long as I want to “get the shot,” and my husband can sleep in again.
Tripod photography can be a bit awkward since passerby love to stare and make comments, but after a while, you stop caring. Shot these images of myself last week while it was drizzling. I think rainy days make the most beautiful light. What do you think?
