As I sit here sipping on day old champagne, leftover from last night’s midnight toast to ring in the new decade, I can’t help myself from devising my latest cliched list of New Year’s resolutions. Freshly inspired and drowning in that tangible New Year spirit, here we go.

Three tips to actually achieve your goals:
Be realistic with your resolutions. If you’re a wanna-be-morning-person like me who currently rolls out of bed at 10am, making it your resolution to start waking up at 6am is just setting yourself up for failure. Rather, make a plan to wake up thirty minutes earlier than you normally do. That way, you have a shot at being successful.
Write out a detailed plan of action and check your progress every week/month. Looking back at last year’s list of resolutions, I realized that the goals I didn’t even come close to achieving are the ones I actually forgot I made, like scheduling my day like a 9-5. Oops. Checking in on your progress will keep your goal top of mind and help you stay motivated.
Tackle one goal at a time. They say it takes 40 days to create a new habit, so keep that in mind when pushing yourself to change.
