2020 Blogging Goals // Tan Sweater Dress + Black Sock Boots

As I sit here sipping on day old champagne, leftover from last night’s midnight toast to ring in the new decade, I can’t help myself from devising my latest cliched list of New Year’s resolutions. Freshly inspired and drowning in that tangible New Year spirit, here we go.

  • Wake up EARLIER

  • Organically reach a minimum of 2% consistent engagement on Instagram

  • Increase my yearly earnings by at least 25%

  • Utilize my content calendar and post daily

  • Push myself to be more creative with my sponsored content

  • Reduce photo editing time

  • Incorporate home decor shots into my feed

  • Clear out my inbox and aspire for more timely responses

  • Increase my affiliate sales

  • Take on a new freelance position in influencer marketing

  • Plan our next vacation

Three tips to actually achieve your goals:

  1. Be realistic with your resolutions. If you’re a wanna-be-morning-person like me who currently rolls out of bed at 10am, making it your resolution to start waking up at 6am is just setting yourself up for failure. Rather, make a plan to wake up thirty minutes earlier than you normally do. That way, you have a shot at being successful.

  2. Write out a detailed plan of action and check your progress every week/month. Looking back at last year’s list of resolutions, I realized that the goals I didn’t even come close to achieving are the ones I actually forgot I made, like scheduling my day like a 9-5. Oops. Checking in on your progress will keep your goal top of mind and help you stay motivated.

  3. Tackle one goal at a time. They say it takes 40 days to create a new habit, so keep that in mind when pushing yourself to change.

What are some of your goals?
