Embroidered Crochet Keds + Floral Maxi Dress / Zappos
I don’t remember my exact words the first time I saw someone wear sneakers with a dress, but let’s just say they were something along the lines of, “I would NEVER wear that!” Fast forward a couple years and it’s now one of my favorite combos because it allows me to mix feminine dresses with wait for it, comfortable shoes. The day comfortable fashion became popular was a great day for the fashion community. Long gone are the days where you can’t look uber chic without a pair of heels. Beauty does not always have to mean pain and comfort does not have to sacrifice style.
Keds was designed for and created around ladies in 1916, and I’ve been wearing them ever since the Mischa Barton ads came out when I was in high school and my friends and I all agreed we needed pairs. After that, I was hooked. They’re the perfect sneakers for running errands or even just spending the day in the city, and Zappos.com offers them in a bunch of different styles and colors.
I love the classic white Keds, but for spring, I decided to go for the cream Triple Embroidered Crochet pair that I found on Zappos. They arrived in two days and fit perfectly, but my favorite part about Zappos is that if I did need a different size, I could exchange them for free. They even offer a 365 day return policy, although I definitely won’t be returning them. The shoes give me an extra inch of height (major plus) and they’re super comfortable. The second I saw the floral embroidery design, I knew I wanted to pair them with a floral maxi, so that’s exactly what I did.
I’m that girl who brings makeup on camping trips and cute purses on hikes, so you can only imagine how much I appreciate a sporty, yet girly shoe. These crocheted Keds will definitely be my go-to when I’m feeling active or even on a regular day when I just don’t feel like squeezing my toes into some 4 inch slingbacks. Keds are great for all occasions and outfits and I love how you can dress them up or down.
I recently played tennis with Keds in celebration of International Women’s Day, so I can say with confidence that their shoes are stylish and functional. I was able to run around the court and look cute doing it. I also got to learn more about the brand and be inspired by their mission to empower women to be who they want to be and go where they want to go.
