5 Tips For Becoming A Morning Person // Navy Star Pajamas

I’m honestly the last person who should be speaking about this as I rolled out of bed this morning at 11am (to be fair, I went to bed at 5am), but becoming a morning person has been a long time goal of mine and on the weeks I’m able to follow my own advice, here’s what works.

  1. Make early meetings/appointments.
My uncle actually gave me this piece of advice and it really works. As long as you’re a reliable person, making early morning commitments is the best way to force yourself out of bed.

  2. Energize your morning.
No matter how much sleep I get, I ALWAYS wake up tired, so I turn up the music and open the blinds as I make my coffee. It instantly puts me in a good mood and gets me ready to start the day.

  3. Start a morning ritual.
Having a morning ritual is a great way to kickstart your day and get into a good headspace. The way you spend your morning can affect your entire day, so spend it well. Some people like to meditate, others like to do some stretches, I like to watch a motivational Ted Talk.

  4. Get rid of that painfully annoying alarm clock.
There is nothing worse than waking up to a blaring alarm clock, so choose a sound that doesn’t make you want to throw your phone across the room. That can be music, calming sounds, or whatever works for you. It may not help you get out bed faster, but it will probably help you avoid waking up on the wrong side of the bed.

  5. Set your priorities the night before.
Sometimes it’s hard for me to get up because the amount of work I have feels daunting, but if I create my to-do list the night before and set my priorities, it’s not as overwhelming. Knowing exactly which task to start on after I finish my coffee gives me structure and peace of mind.

Let me know your best tips in the comments below!
