Oversized Sweatshirt + Ivanka Trump Soho Tote

This shoot was most definitely unplanned. I had recently received Ivanka Trump’s Soho Tote as a gift after attending Ivanka’s holiday party and I knew I wanted to shoot it, but was not exactly sure how I wanted it styled. I think I was sitting on my bed thinking about different options when my assistant walked in wearing this ridiculously amazing oversized Jcrew sweatshirt. And that was it. I loved the idea of mixing something so casual and massive with a bag so sleek and luxurious. So, I stuffed a bouquet of flowers in my bag, asked Batsheva ever so nicely to trade shirts with me, and we were out.

I want to say I wear my Soho Tote about 4/7 days a week. It is the perfect sized bag with a plethora of pockets and space to fit all my essentials, plus my laptop, chargers, and folders. Since I’m usually carrying all of the above back and forth from meetings to whatever Starbucks is serving as my office that day, this bag has become my go-to. I originally chose it in black, but immediately after I left Ivanka’s party, I changed my mind. Basically everything I own is black (or blush), so I knew this would be the perfect opportunity to add some blue to my wardrobe. The butler answered the door, but Ivanka and her team were all taking a group photo in the other room, so I let myself into the back bedroom in search of a blue Soho Tote. Midway through rummaging around, Ivanka walked in with an amused look on her face. She asked me what I was doing and I confessed, “Ivanka, I need a blue one.” She just laughed and told me she completely understood. And I couldn’t be happier with my second pick.
