Public School // L&L Designer Spotlight
This is a public service announcement to all the good people who follow the fashion industry….
Public School is back and back with vengeance! The black, white, navy, dark green, and white color schemes ripped the runway this past New York Fashion Week . The line of baggy silhouettes, long coats, and layers are not only trendy, but super easy to wear. Public School’s collection will leave you feeling comfy, but looking oh so cool!
Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne are the masterminds behind the Public School brand. This dynamic duo are native New Yorkers who are the epitome of street style. They’ve reinvented street style by giving a minimalistic and monochromatic approach to their designs, a look that is trending this season. Chow and Osborne find inspiration from their childhoods. They were both heavily involved in sports, especially basketball. Nets players wear compression leggings underneath their basketball shorts, something that has influenced Public School’s runway collection. The leggings underneath sport shorts is a style Osborne sported since childhood and brought into the fashion industry.
Childhood inspiration always bring out the best work, and if it turns out to be loose fitting, baggy, and black, I’m all for it!
