The Day An Angel Spoke To Me

Writing my first post about crashing the Anna Sui fashion show made me reminiscent of my first Fashion Week in NYC last year. It was only a few weeks after I relocated here from Paris, where I had been living for the last year, and in that one week, I achieved enough conviction that New York City is incredible to entirely eradicate all doubts I had about making the choice to leave Paris.

As my fashionistas know, Fashion's Night Out (FNO) is the biggest night on the town for us fashion obsessed individuals and the celebrity hunters among us. One night a year to kick off Fashion Week, movie stars and designers come out to play and collecting swag becomes a hobby. Sadly, FNO was canceled this year due to its chaotic nature, but that is a whole other story.

Atypical of my usual carefree, anti-gameplan  lifestyle, I did extensive research of all the hot spots and created the night's itinerary down to the minute. First stop, Victoria's Secret to see the angels.

While standing in line at VS, a woman with a clipboard and trailing camera crew approached me. The woman explained that she had taken a liking to my outfit and was, therefore, requesting that I be interviewed by one of the Victoria's Secret angels about my FNO experience. I immediately agreed. Because of the thick, foreign accents of most of the models, Lily Aldridge, a California native, was elected to ask the questions.

One of my friends was also chosen to be interviewed. If only I had it recorded because the interview was priceless. While on a live feed, my friend gushed to Lily how adorable her son is. Awkward silence. Lily doesn't have a son.

Adriana Lima is beyond beautiful and as expected, every angel has the body of a goddess. I am also a midget compared to them as you can see from my photos with Lily.

Here are a couple more pictures from the week I have to blame for my unequivocal Fashion Week obsession that is the reason I began my blog to begin with.
