NYFW Nellie Partow Fashion Show Fall/Winter 2014
Nellie Partow's collection consisted of feminine business attire with a strong menswear influence. Silhouettes included sharp tailored pants suits, tapered trousers, loose fitting chiffon tops, and above the knee, long sleeve bodycons.
I am not sure if it was an overall theme, but I spotted multiple uses of angles throughout Nellie Partow's collection. The heels had angled straps, two dresses had an angled zipper detail by the neck, and many garments had steep V necklines.
This is probably bad news for the animal lovers out there, but fur has been all over the runway this season, Nellie Partow's show included. She had an incredible oversized wraparound fur collar around one of the model's necks, which was a definite collection highlight to me.
Other highlights would be her white on white look and navy cape.
I loved the mix of winter wools and neutral tones with summery pink chiffon tops.
I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at the Nellie Partow presentation to find out two other shows were taking place in the rooms across the hall. After I examined every angle of Nellie Partow's collection, I went to check out Jonathan Simkhai and Calla Paris' shows.
I saw fashion blogger We Wore What post a photo from Jonathan Simkhai, so I seriously have to get better at recognizing people since we were probably standing next to each other. But I did recognize my favorite fashion blogger sister duo, the Beckerman Sisters, who sent me that awesome Isabel Marant pour H&M silver mesh necklace. They knew who I was immediately which was super fun and I can now say those girls are seriously as fun as they look.
Stay tuned for posts about the Jonathan Simkhai and Calla Paris shows.
